The Fellowship of the Ring... done

Yay, I'm done reading through the first book for tLotR!!! Now going through with the second book which is The Two Towers. Actually I'm done reading the first book couple of days ago, yea, bit late to post it on blog. Anyway, the books grabs on almost of my time... nay.. I'll continue until I done reading the whole books :p. see ya later.... see ya on Rivendell :D

Final Fantasy 7 = Musashi epic ???

Hi guys/gals!!!,

Now I think I’m realize something similar about those two stories. Final Fantasy 7 almost looks alike with Musashi epic. For example, let see if Cloud Strife as Miyamoto Musashi and Sephiroth as Sasaki Kojiro, it does make sense.

With a big sword and small sword at back, the weapons of choice for Cloud and long sword for Sephiroth. Everything almost the same with Musashi epic, as we know Miyamoto Musashi is known with his 2 swords style and Sasaki Kojiro with his long sword and Swallow Cut style.

The battle between Cloud and Sephiroth looks similar with the famous battle between Musashi and Kojiro. The physical look for our hero and villain show the same description with Musashi and Kojiro. Cloud that is assembling Musashi with messy hair and Sephiroth with long face and long hair assembles Kojiro.

As the stories goes on with young Cloud like young Musashi’s, dreams of fame and seek them with acknowledging warriors (soldier as in FF7) as the best platform to be famous. At the some events their fates will twist around death and killing. At the younger stage, Cloud/Musashi is eagerly and brutish young boy finally adopt a more soften (soft hearted) man, peace seeker/lover, skillfully with swords/weapons and always seeking/looking life from more positive views.

Eventually, the stories will end up with the battle between those two rivals. In final Fantasy 7, the battles will prove who will survive and rules the planet or not. Actually I don’t see the movies yet, so this is only my review about the similarity between FF7 and Musashi epic’s. It’s almost or exactly the same version of modernize Musashi version, and I like to thinks that way. Mostly Japanese would like some adoptions to their famous epic and cultures. We can see many version of Musashi epic, directly or indirectly, copied or been borrowed (the ideas) for animes, games, movies, books and many more.

Anyway, all of the views are from my consumptions and observations, this may prove correct or wrong. Either way is fine, for most things now, I truly enjoyed the stories, both of it.

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children & Last Order

OMG!!! I’m a bit late to hear about the news!!! Poor me. Being a fan of this title and genre, I’m ashamed to be called as FF fan. I’ll go to store (if they have sold it at my local store, that is) and check if they had the new release of FF7!!! I’m eager to wait for tomorrow… but at the same time too, I’m afraid they didn’t have the release yet.




After seeing the last 4 previews and trailers about the movies, I’m so thrilled. I can’t wait even a moment to watch this movie. After so many years (If I am not mistaken, back at early 1997) I’ve played the FF7 game’s for so many times. I must know what end or conclusion Square-Enix (JP/US/Global) (previously called as Squaresoft) has been installed to this most awaited/anticipated title for anime/3D/game genre they’d in mind.

I’m shivering…… wohooooo. I'm expecting good music scores, great 3d graphics, great story telling, full actions packed and many more... I don't know how to explain my feelings right now.. too happy :) :D XD

Start my reading now...or not

I've done my 1st exam today, there's 2 papers this morning. I'd lot of nerve getting late this morning, supposedly, the exam start on 8.00 AM. But I wake up late around 8.15 AM, luckily my tutor accepted my excuses. He let me through to sit for the exam, yea I feeling lucky today, I found out that the exam will start on 9.30 AM. Phew.. what a luck.

The papers is much easier than I thought of, it takes me 30 minutes to get all of the answers. Last night preparations is paid off, not to concern I'm bit late for the classes. he heh he

With 2 assignments each due on the next 6 weeks, I think I better to reschedule my assignments and my own happy time. I may start my reading on tLotR book's and I'll not give my opinions onto this books, you can get better reviews at Amazon.com. I'll take my time not to rush to do everything or I couldn't cope at all, yea, better play smart.

Well not much to say. Adioss... whatever...

Nostalgia...

I still had in my possession the old sketches and drawings I made 6-7 years ago. No kidding, after so many years I still had it with mine. Luckily at the time, I have scanner and pc to save some of it into digital format. Now, looking back… I am glad I’d scanned it.

I wonder if my skill gotten rusty. I think it’s still the same, you may compare the sketches between these one with the previous post. How do you think? Some of it, I tried to colors its, but I don’t have much skill with Photoshop I guess…

As a child I dream to be a cartoonist, but after some events I stranded and now I m just a techie guy. Forever? I don't think so... No one can guess the future, it is ourself who would create our own future.

I don’t know what to read/study anymore. My head completely numb/blank. Just take my time, sketching onto blank paper… and this is what I’m sketched for some quite time... (Approximately 1 hour) I waste my time again… sighs…

WTH? Whatever... It seem I've plenty of time to waste... again.. sigh

I don't know what my skecthes theme is, maybe don't have any themes. The pencil sketches is not done yet (I'm not artist, just a programmer, this is only one of my hobbies), maybe I’ll try to coloring it. Or, maybe not... Whatever!

1st Test/Exam coming near

Argggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Panic stricten!!!!!!! Arggghhhhhhhhh!!!!! Nervous breakdown!!!

Ha ha ha, okay I admit it, I think I'm not well prepared for the coming 1st test. So I'm writing some of my own desperation here, maybe it will cool my head down. Although it seem didn't take any effect at all. Sigh... 3 days more to go... better read something...

My books is finally arrived…

I purchased 2 books and a set of books (comes with 3 books inside) from Amazon.com. The books I ordered are “Musashi”(hardcover), “The Lord of the Rings”(hardcover) and “The Art of The Lord of the Rings”(hardcover) on 21^st of August, 2005. The packages come on 8^th of September, 2005; they come in 2 separate packages.

I look like a child who receive a birthday present, happily and sing along while opening the packages. YES!!! This is it, the three books I’m waiting for so long (well, not long enough). I’m hugging its, smell nice (yea new books sure smell nice), take one of my favorite bookmark and lay down at bed. Which one should I read first?! Hmm… Sure the thinnest of all is the “The Art of TLotR”, so I get through with it in a blink of second.

So, “The Art of TLotR” is the finest art for the story books/movies. You can see many arts from derived works and various artistes who contribute to the books and the movies. They explained the arts bit by bit and where will it matches with the whole stories and movies. It is an awesome works from them, I’m glad I’d buy the book.

Movies:Seven Samura(1954)i and The Hidden Fortress(1958) by Akira Kurosawa.

Okay... The next one I should read, ah, I prefer to read “Musashi” first. I like samurai genre, most of my classic movies is something like “The Hidden Fortress”(imdb/amazon/criterion), “Seven Samurai”(imdb/amazon), “Lone Wolf and a Cub; 1st season”(imdb/amazon), “Samurai 1, 2 & 3”(imdb:1 2 3/criterion:1 2 3)(I love Toshiro Mifune(link2) acts as Miyamoto Musashi, he's so cool and manly!!!) and many more. Maybe I’m too profound with Japanese cultures. I start reading on 9^th of Sept. 2005, and done reading through it on 11 of Sept.(Sunday), 984 pages.. phew.... I don't believe myself.

Movies: Samurai trilogy; From left Samurai 1 (1954:Miyamoto Musashi), Samurai 2 (1955:Duel at Ichijoji Temple) and Samurai 3 (1956:Duel at Ganryu Island). The movies is directed by Hiroshi Inagaki.

Ahh... It’s too interesting too describe, I can’t put down the book by any chances and minutes. Any rest time between the reading, I’m imagining the whole stories back, how the fights and sequences involved and try to link each situation to each events happening for our heroes. Then, I’m rushing again to read the next chapter, can’t wait to know what would happen to Musashi and his long life lover Otsu.

This story about a young man who pursuit his goal to be the best fencer in Japan, and would take a position among daimyo(like governors?). In the same time fell love with his childhood friend, Otsu. But the path he took preventing him to love her in any normal way (Heyy... don't get the wrong ideas here!!!), but not for Otsu who is completely in love toward Musashi. Her love for Musashi carry her almost through all the Musashi trail's. Musashi on his way as pilgrimage warrior's counters many hardships and obstacles to achieve his way. We can see here, from brutish strength and attitude boy's, the stories gradually bring Musashi to be a great zen master for his time and todays. Do Otsu love's would met it end? Do Musashi ever achieve his goals? <--- heyy.. just read the book larr..

I don’t want to put any more spoilers after this paragraph, if you happen to have same interest I think you should read this book. For the “TLotR”, I think I will read it next week, after I’m done with my first test/exam... Sob sob sob... No way… errs... Better study and prepare for my exam first then I would enjoy my readings again…

"Mencari Cinta?"/Find Love/Find Your Love???

Find your love, or Find love ….. WTH…whatever it is, I really hate this kind of reality show. I think I’ve seen this kind of programs elsewhere in Astro. Hmm what the name again, hmmm ah “Joe millionaire” something like that..

This show makes me want to puke over my TV. Those Romeos, who thinks they were, try to get the one girl and winning her heart or whatsoever. I don’t know why those Romeos did agree to enter such kind of show? Maybe they’re sore loser, frustrated guys, earned hard living money, just to waste their time (heyyyy there are so many ways to waste your own time!!! Ermm, this is some sort of one thing to waste your time.. Really) or to get popular???

Our ministers already voiced out their opinions on this kind of reality shows, which include “Akademi Fantasia” (Yuck!!!) that is not good for our Malaysian viewers. I don’t see much the previous winner does have respective albums or success in carrier, maybe need to wait for some years to mature enough? Mostly, it’ll affect our morale values and wasting times/moneys to almost half or more M’sians.

Do our entertainment including the shows, TV/radio stations and music/movie industries had gone degrading much worsen for these years? Do we need to copycat without filtering any shows from west especially and ignore our morale/ethnics/ eastern values/ etc etc etc. and sacrifice its for profits!? I hope this is not our trends as this would degrade some of our industries.

Maybe it has some positive views and it help much for our entertainment industries to regain their honors. If so, I do hope its helping our entertainments and to fill the void we the viewers had past those years…. Or maybe not…Whatever!!!!

Distance Learning

Today is my first tutorials with my distance learning programmes. I'm enrolling to local university that's offering some kind of distance learning to get my own first degree. Sob Sob finally, I'll get my first degree in flying colours!!! No more waiting, no more stress or booing from other colleagues. Maybe that one just my imagination.

The tutorials run smoothly, but in the end I fell slept for the last classes. Ha ha ha. Okay, I admit that I just too bored with the tutorials. The topics is generally easy but not the English classes. With my bad grammar, spelling or literature I think I'll have some problems with this subjects. Heh.

Life must goes on, this is my 1st semester and there's 3-4 more years to accomplish what I left before. Until then, wish me luck!! :)

Musashi

I'm waiting for my book shipment from amazon titled as Musashi. Miyamoto Musashi, a warrior aka samurai live around feudal Japan. I'm longing for this book, finally I'm buying one and can't wait to read the whole chapters. After reading it, I'll give some opinions later on :)
